Is Casambi the same as Bluetooth Mesh?

Casambi uses Bluetooth Mesh as its underlying transport, but it is a complete control stack on top — including commissioning protocol, scene engine, user app, network management, and cloud gateway. Plain Bluetooth Mesh is a wireless protocol; Casambi is a complete lighting-control system.

How does Casambi compare to DALI in India?

Casambi is wireless, faster to commission, and easier to retrofit. DALI is wired, more familiar to traditional electrical contractors, and the standard for certified emergency lighting. Most modern Indian commercial projects use both: DALI drivers downstream of Casambi-enabled controllers.

Does Casambi need internet to work?

No. The Casambi mesh runs peer-to-peer on Bluetooth. Internet is required only for remote-access (control from outside the property) and cloud analytics. All local control — scenes, sensors, schedules — runs offline.

What is the smallest Casambi project that makes sense in India?

There is no rigid floor — but practically, very small installs (just a couple of points) are often better served by a regular smart switch. We will tell you honestly if a project does not justify Casambi.
